My name is Wilson Gracial Parnell and when I was a year and a half my leg was amputated. I have lived with this disability my entire life and understand the struggles that accompany it. However difficult it has been, my amputation has not limited my life in any sense. I compete in college athletics. I run, bike, swim and have accomplished every goal I've set my mind to.
My NEXT GOAL is this campaign, the #OneLegOneLove amputee fund. In one month from now, I will be competing in a 12km InfernoRun(find link below) to raise hope and funds for those with prosthetics.
The #OneLegOneLove campaign is inspired by my one prosthetic leg and all of the love I received from it. I cannot begin to express how thankful I am and I just want to spread that love to as many people as possible. My mission is to use my prosthetic leg to talk, interact, and inspire ANYONE who is struggling.
We all have problems and the aim of this campaign is to help people who are really struggling, CHILD AMPUTEES. In order for me to play sports, explore the outdoors, and simply walk; I have needed the highest quality care. This IS NOT available to everyone as many insurance companies DO NOT support high-quality prosthetics.
So, all of the money garnered from this campaign will be sent directly to an organization that assists child amputees in receiving this type of care: Shriners Hospital. Shriners is where I received most of my care as a child and without their assistance, I would not be where I am today. The goal of this campaign is $5000, but any money will help!
